Illuminating an Aesthetic: The Eco Bean & Greens Cafe Case Study

How custom-colored Bottleneck and Dome pendants defined a brand’s physical space.

When designing a physical space for a brand like Eco Bean & Greens Cafe, South Burlington, VT, USA - one deeply rooted in organic, clean living - every decision is critical. For the trade professionals behind this project, the physical environment needed to be a precise, tactile extension of that commitment to quality.

They needed a space that felt both modern and soulfully connected to the earth.

They chose to partner with Naaya Studio to anchor the interior with a specific, curated rhythm. This is the story of how our Bottleneck and Dome pendants (in a custom green!) became the visual centerpiece of the Eco Bean & Greens guest experience in South Burlington, Vermont.

The Design Challenge: Architecture Meets Authentic Material

The interior of Eco Bean & Greens Cafe is bright and modern, with natural wood tones and a clean, minimalist flow. A key architectural challenge in an open-plan cafe is defining clear zones while maintaining that essential sense of openness.

The solution was found in repetition and color. The design team chose to staggered our handcrafted Bottleneck pendants in a deep, custom green to match their vibrant brand identity. This bold use of repetitive form creates a visual guide through the cafe, defining the window seating and the main dining area with architectural precision.

The Functional Solution: The Final Layer of Light

A perspective shot from a dining table at Ecobean Cafe looking toward the white service counter. Two large, dark-green ceramic Dome pendants hang low over the seating area, providing a warm contrast to the bright white subway tile and menus in the background.

We love how the form of the Bottleneck and Dome pendant functions in this hospitality setting. From the window-side bar to the primary dining tables, the pendants provide the soft, diffused illumination necessary for creating a warm, community-focused environment.

It's the essential final layer that makes the cafe feel welcoming.

Hand-thrown and custom-fired, the ceramic pendants bring an organic warmth that perfectly balances the modern design. In a space dedicated to "from the earth" offerings, having lighting that is, quite literally, made from the earth provides a beautiful, resonant narrative that guests can feel.
