How Chit Chat Coffee utilized the Poppy ceramic sconce to define their space.

In the heart of Los Angeles, a city defined by its vibrant energy and competitive speciality coffee scene, Chit Chat Coffee & Matcha stands as a beacon of artisanal craft. When designing their first location, the team knew that the physical space needed to be more than just a background; it needed to be a physical expression of their brand.

They needed a space that was both "modern" and "home".

Naaya Studio helped achieve that perfect, elusive balance. This is the story of how our Poppy wall sconces became an essential character in the Chit Chat Coffee narrative.

The Design Challenge: Architecture Meets Atmosphere

The design for Chit Chat Coffee is a beautiful exercise in thoughtful, compact architecture. The space is bright and open, with large glass windows and light-colored walls. However, the goal was to avoid the sterile, industrial feel often associated with modern coffee shops. The team needed lighting that was functional but also brought soul and organic warmth to the interior.

They chose to line our Poppy ceramic wall sconces along the main seating area, a move that proved to be both aesthetically powerful and architecturally smart.

 The Poppy Solution: The Final Layer

We love how the dual-shade geometry of the Poppy works in this commercial setting. Mounted in a repeating pattern above the wooden bench seating, the sconces create a rhythmic flow that leads the eye through the entire length of the cafe.

It's the final layer that makes the room feel complete.

But it's not just about the lines. The earthy clay finish provides a rich, tactile contrast to the crisp white walls and modern furniture. By day, they add a sculptural element. By night, they diffuse a soft, inviting glow that makes the space feel intimate and personal-the perfect environment for a "chit chat" among friends.
