Ventara Handmade Clay Pendant Light | Perforated Ceramic Pattern Cut Lamp
Ventara takes its name from ventana, the word for window, and the entire design lives inside that idea. The bell shaped clay body is covered edge to edge in a hand carved grid of small rectangular openings, each one its own tiny window cut into the surface. Lit from within, every opening releases its own beam, and together they turn the shade into a field of light instead of a single glow.
The effect only fully arrives on the wall. As Ventara is lit, its rows of window like cuts throw a soft checkerboard across the surrounding wall (the pattern will depend on wall as well as the light used), shifting in scale and shadow as the light moves. It is less a lamp that lights a room and more a lamp that builds a second pattern of light around itself, window by window.
Hung low over a console or entry table, Ventara becomes a piece of quiet architecture. Hung over a reading chair or bedside nook, it turns an ordinary corner into a lit, patterned retreat.
